tidal insoluables

This was an installation created during Art in the Open, an "open air studio" that takes place along the banks of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, PA. I spent 3 days on the water, looking for whatever materials presented themselves as inspiration, and then gathering and using them to create temporary installations on both the Market St. bridge and the Septa Regional Rail Bridge, both stone bridges.  Plastic and styrofoam were consistently the most prevalent materials available, speaking to their inability to break down quickly in a marine environment.
